Are you talking about McCain Feingold? I think it's an unconstitutional restriction on political speech - the absolute core of the First Amendment!

People worried about the Patriot Act should focus on this as well.

Shame on the Congress for passing it, Bush for signing it, and the Supreme Court for upholding it.

Campaign finance 'reform' Hah!

Should have called it the Incumbent Protection Act. It has increased the incumbency rate of Congress, because it limits the ability of the challenger to be heard. It silences people opposed to the incumbent.

It is a dangerous and unConstitutional attack on the most fundamental free-speech right - the right to openly, publicly criticize the government or the politicians.

There should be no restrictions on political speech - let it all be heard. Let there be no restrictions on how much money anybody can give to any candidate - but make sure it is transparent to the public. The Founders of the US would be ashamed that we've let ourselves be silenced like this, and Thomas Jefferson would be disgusted that the Dems are the ones who have stolen this right from the people.

Campaign reform only helps incummants and really hurts chanellgers. So if like to see people becoming career politicans with almost no chance of losing an election then by all means back it up. But don't be fooled by the political marketing of campaign finance reform, it's a sly way of bypassing the US Constitution.

Campaign Finance Reform was nothing but a restriction of the First Amendment right to political speech.

Campaign Reform was a phony bill.
All it did was take away freedom from the 1st Amendment.
At least it hurts the commie Democrats some too.

What was the wording of the bill voted on? Makes a big difference. Most of us that have any higher education at all know how to lie with statistics.

"Campaign Reform" is just an assault on the First Amendment.
The only campaign reform that there should be is absolute total disclosure of the identities of campaign donors.

It's been asked and answered. It is an assault on the First Amendment rights of free speech. The ACLU, with their charge of protecting the Constitution should be fighting this unconstitutionality, but they are too busy playing with their atheist friends, canceling Christmas.
