Treating the wife, we went to a posh restaurant where the menu said there would be music, 'Les Legumes melodie' but Les nor any of his band showed up. We didn't get any money off the bill, either.

I would write a strong letter to the manager expaling that you specifically chose his restaurant because you wanted to see Les and see what you get back. Please let us know :-) If I was the manager I would give you a free meal just for making me laugh x

I'm sorry to hear about that, but i think you should complain to the owners rather than getting money off bill- he always get blamed.

You should have gone to the tuna restaurant instead. They do drum and bisque and cream horns.

I bet it was a che-che French restaurant and the translation would be, three bean medley, ie. a 3 bean salad. I hope the dinner was lovely even without music and you and your wife enjoyed each othes company. rv

You should have talked to the manger or owner to see if they could take a little of the money off the bill.

Why didn't you say something than? It might be late if you go now and tell the manager that you did not get for your money what you expected, they have to give you your money back...

"The Vegetable Melody"? I think you've been the victim of clever use of the french language, mon ami.
