Does Cheney or Rice still have financial ties to Oil companies ? I am starting to think our involvement in Afghanistan is for a pipeline..Halliburton and Chevron are big players in this..( i believe)..if so i wanna buy stock ! lol

All senior government officials in the US must disclose all of their ownership or involvement with any company before they take office. Most of them must give up their seats on boards of directors, etc. and put their stock in escrow also. So, Cheney, Rice, and Bush have no direct ties to any oil companies, or any type of company.
The pipeline you mention will probably run through Kazakhstan to the Caucasus. From there, the oil can be loaded on tankers in the Black Sea. Last I heard, the route has not been finalized yet, but laying a pipeline through Afghanistan would be extremely costly and fraught with security problems.

If you want to buy stock, then go ahead. You might want to first look at a few things other than what Dick Cheney owns, though.

Maybe you should consider buying stock in the defense contractors (Lockheed, Raytheon, etc.). I heard that their CEOs were making a killing from the war in Iraq. I personally wouldn't touch it because I consider it as blood money.
