ITS 100% NOT A BASS AS YOU CAN SEE HIM PLAYING THE PART ON THE GUITAR IN THE BYRDS VIDEOS AND ALSO ON THE BEACH BOYS VIDEOS.

You need a compressor - also called a thickener. On the records it's done at the mixing desk, but you can buy a pedal for doing it live.

well, i am a guitarist but i am not familiar with those songs. Try going to getsometabs.com and type in that song and it will tell how you how the song is tuned. Mabye you don't have the guitar tuned right. Or you might need a petal that makes that sound. I'm not sure what dom dom dom sounds like lol but it could be from a bass guitar. They have a deeper sound. I hope i helped.

Its a Bass guitar!

To get the sound on a six string you would need to use an Octivider pedal or similar to get the sound down an octave.

a good chorus pedal, properly set up, will give you a good imitation of this sound
