Nena's original was in German and titled 99 Luftballons.
You might remember Drew Barrymore singing the German tune in the Wedding Singer! Cute.
I've also heard Nena's English version, which, when translated, just doesn't have the same spunk.
The only cover I've personally heard of 99 Luftballons is a techno version by Pleasure Delux.

The original was in German. I've also heard it sung in French (although quatre vingts dix neuf balons rouges is hard to fit to the tune!). Perhaps we should have a multilingual version and use it as an anthem for the EU. Can I sing a verse in Lithuanian?
