why is it that whenever i recommend adoption to someone here they all give me a thumbs down, is adoption really such a lousy choice? What would you guys feel if you could not have a baby and someone recommended that you adopt?

I think adoption is great...it is some peoples' only option. However, in the United States, and probably other Westernized countries, infertile white couples only want to adopt a newborn white baby. They will pay whatever to get that white baby...when there are plenty of babies out there who need their help just as much. Asian adoption is a growing "trend" nowadays...many people are adopting (usually female) Chinese babies, which I think is great. I would love to adopt an African baby, or even an older child...I think they are beautiful children who need our help more than most children out there.

Adoption can be a wonderful thing. Every child deserves a loving parent or parents. It isn't without it's problems as well. A child may never know if he or she has a family history with some sort of disease or health problem with records being sealed in many cases. A child may feel a sense of abandonment by his or her birth parents despite the adopted parents best efforts to over come these feelings. Most times the positives overcome the negatives when it comes to adoption.

I would never.I think adoption is a good thing.If it wasn't for adoption, I'd be dead right now.My birth mother was going to kill me after I was born if I hadn't been adopted.Now I'm 13 and my parents are from WV and there trying to adopt again.So I know how it feels to want to have a baby and can't so I would recommend any woman not wanting to raise a baby give it up for adoption.ANY one from WV want to put a baby up for adoption?MY Parents would adopted any baby.

I think adoption is a lovely idea - whether you can have your own kids or not - there are many children in need of a loving home.
I do think it best to go through a legal adoption agency and to have an attorney to guide and protect you through the process.

there are so many orphan children in the world today that its a great idea to adopt. it doesnt make any difference to me and it isnt a concern for any people on here. if i were younger i would adopt 1 or 2 children.i think its a very noble and giving cause.i would go ahead and adopt because its your business and no one else has the right to tell you any different.

i think it works for infertile couples and when girls have kids too young i think its very hard, but wise choice to put it up for adoption, but i would never want to be adopted. i think id always feel like no one really ever loved me. and id have a hard time having an adopted kid, because its like you KNOW its not yours so you might always in the back of your head thinl (why did i do it) but never say it and stuff and i just dont think they honestly are as loved as natural born children.

i wont give u a thumb down cause i like the idea plus if i couldn't had a my children ill chose this idea cause i think its the best thing i can do if i cant have a baby second if i adopt a child god will bless me n my baby its grt thing to do to raise a baby which is not urs to love him to cover him n protect him of my god its really grt

I will give you a thumbs up because I am all for adoption. Every kid needs a good home whether they are your biological or not.
