Are you suspicious that all of this is a way to distract voters from the real issues, to take minds off of the war for one thing?

Do you think it is odd that this Foley naming his alleged childhood molester in public and the aftermath is a way to distract people's attention with trivial stuff?

Another one of Rove's approved and endorsed tricks?

Whether yea or nay, is has worked rather nicely. Rove is a dark force at work in the White House, and I wouldn't put anything past him and Dark men that put him there.

Be sure to vote!

No, but I strongly suspect it was engineered by some Democrat operatives who don't care a bit about the congressional pages. They had this dirt on Foley for months or even years, yet they wait until just before an election to pull it out to try to smear the whole Republican leadership. If these Democrat operatives really cared about the pages, they'd have gone public with it the moment they thought they had something with which to base a strong accusation. Even the talking heads on TV say this hurt the Republicans greatly. Why would Rove do that? If Rove did it it was a grave miscalculation.

You must always ask yourself, Who benefits?
Foley is gay, and his recent actions border on pedophilia. People who accept, or even tolerate, gays still find pedophiles reprehensible. Foley's lack of judgment and self-control have been disastrous for the GOP. Who benefits? The Dems. Rove is probably tearing his hair out in the damage control arena.

The distractions: (1) blaming alcohol for his actions and (2) citing some clergyman who molested him when he was a child, as if this explained his recent behaviors. Won't work. He has to take full accountability for what he has done.

Foley got into trouble, and Rove concocted the alcoholism/child molester/treatment drama (coupled with the "rediscovered" Reid scandal) to distract the public and the religious right from the failure of the Iran war, the lost ground with South Korea, and the deficit. Rove is trying to take lemons and make lemonade.

It could be but I don't think so. Rep. Foley was reported for improper conduct with paiges 4yrs ago.
I do however think the "trying to sweep it under the rug or Call it no big deal is the Bush Adminastrations way of hiding more problems in our Goverment then any of them will ever Admit. Nothing else will happen to Foley! No jail time, or anything else! Firing him was not enough.

Actually, what I think is that the release of the Foley story was a tactic of the Democrats. It had been known among the House of Representatives for a couple of years. Yep, I'd say the timing of this story was orchestrated by them Dems.
