I've heard reports of healers and shamans sometimes being successful. Also, check out books by Bernie M Siegel, MD, who's had some very interesting, and thouroughly documented, results with cancer patients and non-conventional therapies where things like humor, laughter and attitude shifts made a big difference. Books by Caroline Myss might also be helpful in giving examples of non-conventional healings and the aspects which have played in.

My friends mom had success with shrinking a cancerous tumor in her groin area with Esiac Tea. She did this along with conventional meds. There is also a book called The Cure For Cancer which also has herbal cocktails that supposely work such as...Black Cohosh and Cloves. This book may be available at a health food store.
