I took my old coffeemaker back yesterday because it was making that kind of popping noise and I bought a different one. This one is doing the same thing and just as bad. If its not the coffeemaker could it be something to do with the wall plug-in?

If you are washing it out with water, the water is getting into the heating mechanism. This is cause the "popping" sound you hear. The same will happen with with a deep fryer when you wash it out under the water.

Boy, you sure get weird advice.....

Spiker says "Caution, STOP" etc..etc.

LittleLady says "try to plug into another plug"

How do you find cockroaches? Turn on the light.

How do you find morons? Ask a perfectly lagitimate question and the "EXPERTS" appear....sheeeeesh.

If you have a new coffee machine, and its a "MR. Coffee" type, the water is being syphned out by the machine and into the grounds. As the water recedes, it has a sucking sound, which is perfectly normal, especially at the end of the cycle.

With new coffeemakers I think you have to run water through once or twice. If water gets under the glass carafe it pops as it turns to steam.

It's very possible, Try another plug in a different room and see if it still does it. Then you'll know if the Cm or the outlet.
