Im pregnant with my fourth baby, no back pain yet..but I had severe pain with my other pregnancies. Every person is different, but my problem was a pinched sciatic nerve. The pain was centered in my back, but shot down through my butt and into the backs of my legs. It hurt. Tylenol only helped minimally, and even though its safe, you should really watch how much you are taking. You can try having your "other" rub a tennis ball on your back..same as when you are in labor..the counterpressure sometimes helps alleviate the pain, but chances are..you may be stuck with it. I know its hard to consider, but a job where you are on your feet all day may not be the best choice for you right now, either. Maybe you should look into finding something else right, which is difficult, I know, but may be your only option. Another thing, usually back pain eases up at night. Is your mattress comfortable for you? Is it too hard or too soft. You need a firm surface, but with a little give. Try getting a body pillow and resting your top leg over it when you sleep on your side. I hope some of this helps..talk to your doc when you go back in....AND FEEL BETTER!!!

If you are not wearing one already get a maternity belt. They come in several different styles and you need the extras support. Looking at it you will think this little ole thing will not help, but it does really believe me. I could not make one day without mine and I started wearing mine before I was even 10 weeks along. You can find them at most pharmacy's, JC Penney used to have them I am sure they still do. I hope this helps. I even wore mine at night when it was very bad. But, if you are wearing it during the day it should help a lot....hope all turns out well. Congratulations :)

I went to a spine clinic when I was going through my first pregnancy because of severe back pain, and let me tell you....the first visit they had to re-align my pelvic bone. After that, I was completely pain-free! I would talk to your OB/GYN about getting enrolled in a perinatal program that will help you strengthen the muscles that are getting worked out right now, and to get evaluated for possible misalignments.
A word of caution: If you decide to get pregnant again, please let your OB know of your previous back condition so a referral to physical therapy can be made for you...you may need it! I am 26 weeks pregnant, and had terrible pelvic pain (the cartilage on the pubic bone was softening and stretching), but I was able to rest enough to have the pain go away. Good luck to you, and congratulations on your pregnancy!!

chiropractic and massage therapy are both wonderful options that you should explore
I saw a MT regularly through all three pregnancies and it helped a lot. Also, either will help you keep in balance and make labor easier. I think MT helps you learn to relax a lot too, which is great for labor.

Try yoga, your stomach field is stretching and replacing very quickly. Aches and pains are facet of being pregnant. if it had been your correct aspect Id fear it maybe your appendix. Play it nontoxic and contact your OB simply to be certain. Dont ever hesitate to touch a healthcare professional if you happen to believe some thing is unsuitable. Use your possess great judgement.

My daughter is 7 months along and was having the same problem. I went to Babies-r-Us and got her one of those pregnancy support belts and it has helped her tremendously. She said that it is so much easier to sleep at night now and everything. Give that a try. They run about $30.00 but are well worth it.

RICE SOCKS, fill a sock with dry rice and put it in the microwave for a few minutes to use it as a heating pad on your back, its cheaper and works better than any heating pad. the dr recommended this to me

don't sleep on your bed anymore.. I started sleeping on my couch, so my back would rest against the back of the couch and it worked wonders... try it... I worked in retail so I was on my feet 8hrs a day nonstop ... so my back really hurt, not to mention I was huge.. had a fairly big baby...... It really did wonders for my back, because I had that support
