The war in response to the 9-11 attacks is the war in Afghanistan, which has been underfunded, under resourced and generally left to flounder
You also ask about the woefully ignorant war in Iraq to gain a friendly ally in the middle east by overthrowing Saddam Hussein and letting the Iraqi people welcome the US military into their country.
Neither war is doing well and new leadership is clearly called for.

I would certainly prefer not to be there, but that goes for any war. Unfortunately, war is an inevitable result of having evil reign in the world. There can never be a world without war as long as man exists (because all have free will, even the evil of mankind).
This war will be a long one and will be fought on many fronts. Iraq is just the first of what could be many battlefields. This war against Islamic extremists will not be one through use of conventional methods of warfare. The Islamic people of the Middle East and other parts of the world must cooperate in trying to control the extremist movement within their own ranks. This is much easier said than done and will take many years and the cooperation of many countries. It would be nice if the U.N. would do their job instead of sitting on their hands which they have raised to an art form.

Well, first off, Iraq has nothing to do with 9-11. That is the Afghanistan War. I feel that Iraq is a bullsh#t war, being waged for bullsh#t reasons...so the only outcome is going to be bullsh#t. And that is why there has been 5 years of bullsh#t. I feel bad for the Iraqis and I am VERY sad that so much of our military has received casualties.

The US military has been fighting in Iraq since the 1st Gulf war in 1991. The US military defended both no fly zones in Iraq, had ground troops in N. Iraq to defend the Kurds, and bombed Iraqi radar & anti-aircraft positions and then obivously invaded iraq again. So we've really been there for over a decade.

It's sad when everyone has such a great opinion on America, but they can't hand over what is promised. Everyone claims that Iraq are such puss*es, but yet we still can't defeat them... SAD!
It's gonna take over a hundred years for the US to take over the world... By then the world is to be tired of us and change the channel.
Neocons are trash talking pimps that can't get the job done... But claims they have.
Libs are cry babies that would rather sit in the corner drinking smoothies and driving Hummers while complaining about the neocons doing it.

Ask yourself this question "How do I feel when I watch the film footage of the twin towers coming down, knowing that at that instant thousands died, and people in several Islamic countries celebrated the deaths & danced in the streets?"
Thats how I feel about the war. Its very personal and enraging to think that those same terrorist want to kill me & my children if given the chance.
We need to get the job done or the Islamic-Fascist are coming back full force. Do we ever learn from our past? What would have happened had we been complacent and never helped Britain or France in WWII? We'd be speaking German today. Do you want to choose to bow down to Islam or be beheaded? Die standing instead of living on your knees
Any liberal who thinks we arent fighting the terrorist needs to read who is killing our soldiers today. Its the Al-Qaida in Iraq isnt it? Yes we are in the right place fighting the right people

I think it has nothing to do with our country, the U.S., so we should mind our own business. If those people want to run around the streets with guns and kill each other let them. Thats there problem. I dont see any other countries rushing over here to fight our homeless problem. I dont see foreign auto makers helping the people in detroit better our american cars. Bottom line America needs to learn how to mind they own. If it dont concern us, dont get involved

We'll be mostly out before too much longer.
We can't leave too soon, or it will mean millions of deaths around the world.
The Democrats want to surrender. They will get millions killed.
