Gibson, Musial, Brock, Ozzie, Hornsby...the list goes on. Now Pujols. If Pujols stays on his track...it may be him. But this is an interesting debate I think.

Stan the Man Musial without a doubt. Albert Pujols has quite a
few laps to go before he catches up with Musial.

Albert Pujols

Stan Musial
Bob Gibson
Rogers Hornsby
Lou Brock

in that order for now. Pujols needs a few more years and a WS ring or two if he wants to get on the list.

You mentioned some great names there, and hopefully, Pujols will spend his whole career with St. Louis, and perhaps reach the top of this list.

I'm not from St. Louis, but out of all those legends and near-legends, you'd have to go with Stan 'the Man' Musial. Incredible career, and synonymous with Cardinals baseball.

Stan Musial

It is interesting as there's been some great Cardinals.

Seeing some career stats on Pujols convinced me.
After six years in the league, his numbers are mind boggling already. If Pujols left the game now, he'd have to be waaaay up there.

CAREER STATS - 6 YEARS
Batting Average: .332
Runs: 748 (124 ave)
Hits: 1159 (193 ave)
HR: 250 (41 ave)
RBI: 758 (126 ave)
SLG: .629

IF he keeps this up, he may not only be the best Cardinal ever but...
THE best player ever.

Right now it's "Stan the Man" with Bob Gibson close behind. Given time and if he stays healthy, Albert will break all of Stan's Cardinals records.
