i pulled the hard drive and installed it on another desktop and it worked just fine so i put it back in the old desk top and went to bios and it says hard drive not found and bios would not let me change any settings.

you can't really put a hard drive from one desktop into another....each system is configured differently...you may have to reinstall the os

Your bios could be outdated, mine is.
I reconfigured the setup menu to run the Cd drive first then I just ran the Windows installation program.

Make sure it is connected properly and has power.
