i am currently taking loestrin 24. I missed a day two weeks ago but took my pill as soon as i remembered. I bled on tuesday and thursday of that week for a short period of time. since then i have been taking it normally.

i am spotting again today, even though i am about 10 days away from starting my period.

is this normal to spot for 3 days total in 2 weeks after only missing one pill?

I really have no advice on the pill. I took it for about 3 months when I was 17. I couldn't remember to take it every day at the same time to save my life. I started on the Depopravaro (spelling) right after that. There is a lot of controversy to the Depo injection, but me personally I have never had a problem. I've been on it now 6 years... Wow, and soon will be coming off of it after I am officially engaged! But I get it every 3 months from my Gynocologist, and that is it... just every 3 months, nothing to worry about. At first I spotted very lightly, I'd say for about a year... and usually in the last month of my shot before my new shot was due... now, 6 years later, I don't ever get a period. The last time I did get one, I freaked out. Some say that's a bad thing, I do take extra vitamins so that I keep my system as normal as possible... but that is my birthcontrol advice. I love it. Plus it has helped with my complexion. And I never gained weight!

Yup, this can be normal when taking the pill. Especially since you missed one....If you want to regulate your period you should ask your doctor about a different birth control pill. Or, like someone else mentioned, Depo (Depo-provera) the birth control shot normally reduces the period significantly. Some people dont even get theirs. I have taken the Depo for over 7 years. I dont get my period at all. Spotting maybe once a year if that. Plus, Depo got rid of all of my PMS symptoms too. Another good thing about Depo is that you only have to get it every 3 months, so you dont have to worry about missing a pill.....Hope this helps!

Sometimes it is. Breakthrough bleeding or spotting is one of the possibilities. How long have you been taking it?

afraid so, it's one of the annoying aspects of taking the pill. it sometimes rebels if you don't take it correctly.
