Where I can look up Driver's License and License Plate information for free. A guy rear ended me a couple of days ago and he gave me phony information. The only factual information was his DL# and LP#. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks for all your answers. I just wanted to add that the Police were not called because nobody was seriously injured and the guy had no problem letting me see his information. Unfortunatey he was just a lying bastard... shows how much you can trust people these days. But I noticed that there are cameras at the sight of the accident, so I will be contacting the authorities.

I had a VERY similiar experience a few years ago. Some guy backed out his driveway onto the main road I was driving on, and the loser backed right into my car, and left a dent in the right front. Well he gave me some phony information too and I didn't call 9-1-1 'cause no one was hurt but now I wish I'd have done different. You should talk to the police and tell them this information and they can assist you in busting that guy. Good luck!

I agree with the other posters, call the police, which you should have done the moment the accident happened. Alert your insurance company also. Do not try to find this jerk, let the proper authorities handle this scum bag.

I hate to say this but, phone your local D.M.V. to see if your State lists that info. Some States do have a post for plate #'s, I don't think they can post a DL #, ya know for privacy reasons.
You may have to wait on the phone and go through several people to find out your questions, but do it! And ask for as much info. as you can get from them; that will help you track down the "bum" that has caused you all of this "chaos" in your life and to get your car fixed.
Good Luck!!

if you have any the drivers license or plate number he is toast the police have this information handy and even your insurance company does have the means to get it as well ; so don't even bother looking for his information report the case to , first the police so they give you a case number and secondly your insurance company.

Call the police...you should have done that at the time of the accident. Make a report anyway. May be fruitless. May actually have benefits.

Sounds like you need to file a police report. I learned that lesson before. Any time you are involved in a wreck, never let the person at fault tell you that they will fix your car if you don't file a report....because they will never fix your car!

Make a report to the police, and get a crime number for submission to your insurance company. It is their problem.
