Rockwell, no contest.
Warhol may have had more creative spark, but in technical skill to reproduce imagery, Rockwell had it all over him.

I dont think either artist is better than the other. They both have very different views on painting and what they think is real art.
I mean Andy did pop art and some of it is really abstract but it appeals to alot of people cause his technique is one like no one has never seen.
And Norman did more commercial works like for the Saturday Evening post and to me there were more idealistic protrayls of american life. I think Rockwell had the ability to depict 20th century Americans as they preferred to see themselves.
I personally am more attracted to Warhols art but they are both brilliant artists. As far as detail and true painting abilities Rockwell was more detail oriented and true to the subject. Warhol was just a copier or modern day art so to speak.

Tough question.
Most 'art' is a matter of the 'taste' of the viewer. If they like it then they consider it art or better than......
They are 2 very differently styled artists....Norman Rockwell was great for the realism and gentle humor. Warhol was great for popart and political statement. Both very good. But if I didn't like thier efforts I might say neither was good.

It depends on personal preference of course but I think Norman Rockwell was a better artist.

Norman was a great artist. His work will easily outlast the 15 minute fame of Warhol, who simply made screens of common popular images. Technically speaking, he could paint circles around Warhol.
Norman's work is more akin to the work of the great Masters with a modern, more everyday person aspect.

I am really an artist I don't just play at being one. These two, overwhelmingly, reflected on and drove the culture of their time and nurtured art's scope and importance forever. Great, both of them.
