I he was banned from playing Chess for the US for playing non-sanctioned competitions. I think he's now in an Asian country, maybe and I'm pretty sure that he gave up his US citizenship.

Wasn't he fished out of the Harbor for trying to sneak in the U.S. by Canoe??
