Why was the Bush regime asleep at the wheel for months before 9/11/01?

Question

America was attacked by terrorists, either those in this current Bush regime or by those he blames, al Qaida.

What we do know is that Condi Rice was handed many red flags, and knew about the attacks that were iminent, but she either chose not to act on the threats or she simply has a very poor memory and forgot about them.

Bush was briefed several times about these threats, and he did nothing but read to little children. Gee - I wonder is he can actually read those little golden books. We all know he can't read a newspaper.

On 9/11/01 America got attacked, again with our pants down, but why was the entire Bush regime asleep at the wheel as well?

Could it be that the vast majority of the facts have been lost in yet another one of the Republicans infamous cover-ups?

without 9/11,congress never would have gone to war in Afghanistan or Iraq.So what does that tell you?
So we have all seen the videos of George bush in the classroom being told of the attacks that day.What did his facial expressions show to you.Indignation ?Hardly.Determination?Hmm no.Surprise?He didnt even lift his eyebrows.His expression showed none of these things to me.You would expect these kinds of reactions from the leader of the most powerful nation on earth would you not.
So anyway ,he finally left the classroom.I dont know if he ever finished that book or not.When he finally got into Airforce 1,the plane took off unescorted by airforce fighters of ANY kind.So lets get this straight.The pres is informed of attacks occuring that his administration had no prior knowledge of.He doesnt show surprise ,indignation or any kind of resolve.He mucks about in the classroom for awhile.As the leader of a country under attack he leaves in a jet plane unescorted by protection.Do these sound like the actions of a person under a surprise attack?No they dont.So can one conclude that he knew about before hand.?
What I find suspect is the fact that an official enquiry wasnt launched for 411 days.That is over a year for petes sake.Pearl harbour and kennedy assination inquiries were launched in less than 2 weeks.How the devil can such a thing be explained?It is nonsensical and certainly aberrant behaviour for any nation under attack.
Interesting fact.Look at the wanted poster for Bin laden.It is on the net.Yeah he is wanted for many things but the WTC tragedy isnt one of them.Whats with that.The fact is that the FBI admits that they do not have enough evidence on him.And yet this whole terrorism thing started with him didnt it?
Bin LADEN issued a clear staement to Al jazeera saying that even though he applauded the attack,he wasnt responsible.The singel most audaciuous attack ever and he isnt taking responsibility?Does that sound like the actions of a mastermind who planned this for over 2 years?
The bulk of the steel from the twin towers was sold to Bao steel in china for well below market value.$120/ton vs 160/ton within 11 days.Fire engineering magazine stated "we are treating the remains like garbage,not like crucial fire scene evidence.The destruction of evidence must be stopped immediately"
I list one of my sources below.The person who compiled the data for this publication is respected in his field,He is not a lunatic or a member of a fringe community.I have read the entire/9/11 report and comparing the 2 shows that there was prior knowledge of the attacks.
And while we are at it ,how is it that bin laden was known to be the culprit within hours after the attack.That is some amazing detective work.Do you really believe that some guy in a tent in the mountains of the border area orchestrated these attacks?And that he is still running this terrorist show from that tent? How is he communicating.Spy planes would Zero in on any electronic communication emanating from that region,so how is he doing it?Smoke signals?UPS courier?

Let me answer you question with a question. If someone called you and told you that a house fire was going to happen in your city, what would you do???

Clinton and Bush both had the same basic information, and incident was planned and was going to happen, but when and where and what target were not available. SO, what do you do??

You cant lock down the country, cause the terrorists win. If you shut down transportation, the economy comes to a standstill, which, lets the terrorists win.

Look at the liquids on aircraft, all the extra security and headaches it caused travelers, the terrorists won without doing a thing, just putting together a plan.

So, what would you do?? The Commission report stated there was no clearly defined target, and that both Presidents acted in a proper fashion. SO, having said that, you cant Blame Bush and the conservatives cant really blame Clinton. There was no action that could have been taken to protect us based on the information available at the time.

All the speculation and insinuation that the liberal media puts out is just that, garbage.

Naaaa....I suspect that the Bush Administration was still trying to set up house.
Remember, he was sworn into office only eight months earlier and there were more pressing demands on his plate at that time.

The fact that the Bush Administration did not take the threats serious is similar to previous administrations that just don't see the big picture, in terms of foreign affairs.

On the flip-side, Bush has become so myopic on his so-called "war on terror" (and where is that irascible Osama, anyway?) that his domestic policy suffers greatly.
He has been a poor leader...and a good example of what not to do in times of crisis (i.e., don't go off invading other countries that are not an imminent threat to you).

9/11 set a precedent. No one could have known, dems or repubs, that the threat was authentic. I don't fault Clinton, Bush or anybody for not taking the threat seriously. Who could have known? Here in america, people seem to commit crimes with an agenda in mind, we didn't take the threat seriously because in our minds, the terrorists had nothing to gain from such an attack.
