What’s the only Grand Slam tennis event that has historically paid little heed to ATP Tour rankings in determining seeding

i think they usually pay attention to that..there are only 4 events...wimbledon, french open, us open and the austrailan open. my guess would be winmbledon for the french, beccuase those are the two surfaces that are the most difficult to play on.

Wimbledon is the correct answer, but the other Grand Slams
can do this as well. This happened at the 1996 US Open,
where they basically redid the draw, which caused an outrage
for good reason.

Wimbledon will sometimes tinker with the seedings to give the fast court players a higher seed then the pure clay courters. There are obvious exceptions ex. Rafeal Nadal.
