We use a Netgear device to track Internet activity but someone in the house uses a laptop and when I have viewed the laptop history it doesn't match the History collected on the netgear. It seems they are connecting to the Internet without it tracking the information. Is this possible and is there a way to figure out the correct/complete history on the laptop. It is very suspicious to me because this person use to view Porn on the computer and that is why the Netgear device was installed with blocking of these sites and email notifications. I want to know where to find the detailed Internet history on this laptop. I forgot to mention the person using the laptop is very technical and has a high degree of computer knowledge. I do not.

yes this can be done it is very easy to hide internet usage if you have the right knowledge. with the right settings applied and using internet proxies or a browser called browzar there would be no trace of internet use left behind.
if you really want to see what they are doing install a keylogger on the laptop. here is the link for one
http://www.free-keylogger.com/
i use this one it is very easy and it tells you everything.
if you dont have an account on that pc you will have to log in as admin. username administrator and leave the password blank. if you have the log on screen that you click a icon then type your password hit ctrl+alt+del 2 times then you will be albe to type in this info. if by chance there is a password set on the admin account. you can try logging in with safe mode. reboot tap f5 during the bootr process you will get a list of choices at some point choose safe mode hopefully this will just log you in after the boot process complete. then install it and your all set. good luck

i tired to reply to your email but i couldnt your email hasnt been confirmed yet. so ill write it here i hope you get this.

thats the problem they are not really detectable. you could try to block them but there are so many thats the problem schools are having too.
with browzar they dont even have to download it they can click the icon on the website and choose run and it will open and run right there with no trace. do you have access to the laptop? do you know this persons username and password? if you do i can help you make some changes that will allow you to track the internet use.

Of course. Any 12-year old can get past a Netgear (of course, most 12 year olds know more about computers than us adults). There are at least half a dozen ways he could be doing this, by using proxy servers, trace-wipe software, or just reconfiguring your device to not trace his history. If you're skilled, this is stuff that can be done in a matter of minutes.
You have three choices. 1. Take away the laptop. 2. Buy some serious web-filtering software and have it configured and secured by a pro. 3. Purchase a keylogging program and install it on the laptop.
I would take door number 3. Let him think he's getting away with it, while all the time you're recording his every move. This would have the advantage of logging everything he does on the laptop, whether he's connected to your home network or not. (Not just web surfing, but e-mails, IM's, etc.)
