My boss just came and told me I wasn't dressed appropriately for work. I'm wearing a knee-length skirt with gray leggings (the ones that go all the way down to my ankles) and flats. I don't think I look inappropriate, but now I feel like a skank. I was just trying to follow a trend...

If it's a corporate/office environment, then yes. Don't worry, we've all had to learn what's appropriate/inappropriate, sometimes the hard way. Usually if it's "trendy" for people in their teens through early-mid 20's it is not that appropriate for the corporate office. But Lord, I can think of way worse then what you wore!! At least you were covered up! :)

Yeah it kinda is. It seems skanky and there is not any way that the female in question or women usually did no longer verify their mirrored image in a miror till now leaving domicile. I made the blunders of procuring for a pair of leggings without attempting them on as quickly as. as quickly as I have been given them domicile and tried them on ... very almost see-by way of they have been that sheer! i in my view could by no skill pull leggings so some distance up that the define of inner maximum section is on view for each individual quite close kinfolk, pals or pals by no skill ideas strangers. it extremely is merely invite comments and pre-conceived suggestions as to what form of character I own. I generally do no longer care what people think of usually yet I draw the line at specific issues and dermis tight leggings is a vast no-no!

I don't think that him telling you that you do not fit the dress code makes you a skank. I know that wearing leggings to work, not tights-but leggings, would not be appropriate for our dress code. It is more of a "fun" option and not businees attire.

Leggins alone? Yes inappropriate. Leggings and a skirt, Not a big deal. What type of business is it?

You really shouldn't wear anything "trendy" to work. Professional dress is a classic style with only slight variations over the years. If it bothers you, talk to you boss, ask him what specifically if inappropriate about your outfit. I would never wear leggings to work.

Depends on where you work. In an office setting where all other employees are dressed on the stuffy side, it wouldn't be too kool. Follow the lead of the your co-workers. Unless they wear leggings also.
