Wasn't there a Simpson's episode where a Japanese TV show caused viewers to go into fits? Or was that South Park?

No-my son is epileptic and he watches tv all the time. He has a epileptic seizure only because he has not been taking his meds correctly and his tegretal level is unbalanced or he had them when he hadn't been diagnosed yet. Watching TV has nothing to do with an eplieptic fit.

Yes, but only in certain situations.
1. you usually have to be pre-disposed to epileptic fits
2. the stimulus (usually a flashing light) has to be the frequency that would set on your fit (they're not always the same frequency)

the Pokemon episode that was banned in Japan because of epileptic fits that occurred (flashing lights); i was able to watch with no problem. it really depends on who you are, and how susceptible you are to epileptic fits

Many people believe that watching TV or playing video games can trigger a seizure. This is true in a few people who are photosensitive (sensitive to flickering light), though it's far less common than most people imagine. In fact only about five per cent of people with epilepsy are affected in this way.
