As far as our universe is concerned, there was no such thing as time before the big bang singularity. As the universe expands it creates its own space and time. However there could easily be an infinite number of big bangs and so an infinity of universes so then the growth of this universe and our time is relative.

Currently scientists believe that our universe will carry on expanding so there won't be a big crunch. However if it did happen in some universe then for that universe time will no longer have meaning. But in relative terms time still exists so there will always be a before.

Depends on size of Hubble Constant. The equation is density (rho)><= 3H^2/(8xpixG). G=grav constant H= Hubble constant, pi=3.14...
If the critical density is greater than this the universe does indeed collapse, much in the way a projectile returns to a massive body with insufficient escape velocity. Otherwise the universe continues to expand forever..
In the event of the 'big crunch' some scientists predict a 'rebound expansion' and that this may already have happened several times, with different values for the fundamental quantaties of Physics each time.. OMG! just realised I may have answered this question... long time ago!

The universe is collapsing but new universe is also taking shape. The visible universe as well as the invisible universe have constant mass, energy, time , space ratio i.e they are at equilibrium with each other. Mass is being converted into energy with the passage of time in space new mass is taking shape. We can see only that mass with which we can exchange energy because our senses respond to energy change only. We can not see that part of the universe which has no energy change but that does not mean that it does not exist. The collapsing universe is not actually collapsing but being converted into no energy change universe, we can call it black energy which too exists. So the word before is being converted into past of the physical universe thus the word before has a meaning.

yep - the energy frequency is still at a point- so all the thoughts, happenings and so called matter are just compressed energy to a single point - what appears as non-existent is actually what we can't understand - we try to think in ridge terms, definitions - but energy is a changing frequency, so we must think in terms of what is energy not what is matter or past ideas. If the universe has a sense of humour then it will. Especially if the word before is "nipples".

Not really. But it most likely will not collaps, it's still expanding faster than ever.
