Yes the media can effect our thinking. I think YA would only effect our abilities to perform everyday tasks if we listened to people's answers as gospel. I think it's a good place to get opinions and ideas and then make your own decision.

Yes, it happens every single day. Why do you think companies spend millions of dollars to sell their products? They know that people are going to buy their products. Do I thin Y!A is affecting out abilities to perform everyday tasks, probably in some cases, but for me no, I'm only on here when I have finished everything I need to do for the day.

The media can give you facts and opinions, so it can lead you into certain directions, with your thinking. It cannot however affect the thinking itself, unless you're really like "yeah, sounds good, i'll have that opinion too." Even then though, the daft gits basing opinion only on FOX reporting should be individually blamed for being unable to diversify their curiosity or culture. Secondly and irrelevantly Y!A makes my office life easier, but it has no hold at all on my inability to perform morose tasks.

Yes, the media can affect our thinking, as well as our actions.
We hear things, such as a weather report, and we assume them to be true, so we plan accordingly.
If the weather report says 95% chance of rain tomorrow, not many people are going to plan on attending a beach B.B.Q. that day.
No, Y.A. does not effect my performance in any way.
Most of us are just here to have some fun and kill some time.
If we can help someone along the way, sweet.

They sure can, but I have experienced that they said something I knew was a 100% lie.
I have studied the media in China, even they could influence my thinking to some extend. Almost all the news is positive there and it is easy to see that they have a lot of propaganda in it. In spite of that it still had some influence on my thinking. I did't become a communist by the way :)

It's worse than that even, schoolbooks are beginning to contain revisionist history simply to be more politicaly correct. Imagine being taught lies in school and never even having a chance at the truth.
