Can two people (preferably two of the opposite sex) be friends without having sex, tangling the situation and making things complicated? Or is sexual intercourse a prerequisite for the whole "being friends" process between a man and a woman.

Possible but very rare does that not happen, because the more time you spend with them alone the more sexual feelings come around, and the flirting so I would say most of the time male and female who are just friends end up sleeping together..

I have a friend with whom I have not had sex. And yes, we are friends. For a brief moment I was secretly wishing that things would be different but now I am grateful that I resisted the urge. We both are divorced and our sons are the same age. They love to be together. I can't imagine how it would have been different had we taken the next step, and then we didn't like each other after that.

Besides, who needs all that complication anyway? I enjoy his company and he enjoys mine. Life can be good without sex. In fact, I think that I am better (Character speaking) for it. Anyone can have a quick roll in the hay. Not everyone can have a true friendship with the opposite sex and be true to what they believe in.

Yes two people of the opposite sex can be friends without having sex, in my opinion it is better to start off this way, even if there is a physical attraction there cause then you get to know the person a whole lot better, prior to starting a relatonship with them.

I believe people of the opposite sex can be friends, without having sex. I have male friends who I've never had sex with. Having friends of the opposite sex can also has it benefits.

Example:

Being in a relationship is hard that's why when I need advice I would ask my girlfriends but if their advice didn't work out I go to one of my male friends who are always there to help me out and if they had a problem in their relationship they could come to me.

NO! Thats so ridiculous! Of course you can be friends with someone of the opposite sex without sleeping with them. One of my best friends is a guy and I would never sleep with him. We are strictly friends and he is a great, attractive guy- just not for me and I would never do that. WHY WHY WHY would you ever think that sexual inttercourse is a prerequisite for "being friends"??!?????!????????????? Thats ridiculous.

No such thing as "just" friend. it's a girl's ideal they come up with so they can have a lot of "friends" and still have a boy friend.

Friend mean you can USE them when your boyfriend is usless.
