Is it possible to take a flight to San Franciso and just set myself up out there?

apply to au pair america they pay for visa and flights, visa lasting 1 year. as i did , only i stayed 3 yr as the familly sponserd me, san fran is an amazing place as is capitola santa cruze san jose sanfran hills. while your there you can apply for jobs that will apply for a work visa 4 you. all you need is experience child sitting or looking after a sibling or go on holiday for a month and see what happens???????? u may find a job then. people do employ you and pay cash (shhhhhhhh)

I'm currently attending there. If you need a quick place to stay for a quarter, you might consider the housing the school offers. Stay away from Daly city, it sucks. Live in SF, preferably along the underground bus stations and/or subway stations. I wouldn't consider downtown as an option, it stinks and is full of bums. Good neighborhoods include 'the mission', sunset, richmond and inner sunset.

I think it depends on your citizenship. If you come from a country that doesn't require a visa to enter the US then you may fly there as a tourist with a temp visa.
Or maybe a student visa if you want to attend schools there.
that's will get you there too.

Don't sweat it. The liberals out there on the west coast LOVE illegal immigrants. Just get yourself in front of some actor type, and you'll be SET UP.

If you need a visa from the country you're coming from they won't even let you on the plane without one. You need to get one first, contact the US embassy in your country.
