ok, my opinion on the situation,
Call your boss and set up an appointment to meet with him.
Tell him you want to have a discussion about a situation in your office that is really bothering you and need some advice or guidance as he is your boss and this buttholes you have to work with.
Explain everything to him, from the begining. Leave nothing out. If by the end of the conversation he seems as though he will do nothing about it, tell him that you will contact a lawyer and tell them that you have a situation at work and have spoken with your boss and he will do nothing about it. You don't have to work in a hostile environment nor put up with a druggie at work.
Whatever you do, dont let this butthole force you to leave the job you love and have poured your heart and soul and finances into.
Good luck with this and if all else fails, have your bf go beat the snot outta the man. LOL J/K (or am I?)

You need to contact your boss and you have to put it in writing exactly what is going on and how it is affecting you. You can not be forced to work in a hostile environment. But you must tell someone.
However reporting that someone had drugs in their desk is not cool, unless you could have shown a supervisor or someone at the time that you found it.
I am assuming that this guy knows what you did because you in fact told him that you would call the police on him if you found it again. You created this mess and hostility between the two of you. Only you can fix it.
I would first approach the employee and try and make amends, purchase one of those small voice activated recorders first.
I tell you that little recorder has helped out of some tough situations. Get a be able to prove your case kiddo.
By the way it is legal to record your own conversations. Catch him in the act. Then tell him I'll report you if you don't stop with the obnoxious behavior.

Hate to say this but I'm with your Dad. Talk to the boss, ask the boss if by any chance this guy is the supervisor when the boss is gone, that might verify if he's supposed to be bossing you around or not. Once you get that straightened out and he's NOT supervisor or whatever, then explain to him the problems you're having. Tell him that you're doing what you need to do but you cannot work in this type of environment when someone's pushing you around like this guy is. Explain to him you love your job but you are being greatly distracted in a very negative manner. Chances are he'll want to listen to both sides of the story. And he'll make his decision then. But like the other guy answered.... it might be best in the long run to go ahead and start looking for another office. Sounds like this guy is really bad news and once the boss wants to listen to his side he'll make it sound like it's all you. Especially if he's the type that wants to steal your referrals and everything else.
I wish you the best of luck

You have to talk to the boss. If he doesn't do anything you shouldn't work there because it will be trouble in the future. Maybe you can just ask to be moved to another office (if he has another) If the boss doesn't care now he won't care later and you won't get anywhere. Get your license and get out of there, there are many insurance companies that are begging for employees.

write down all the incidents when you think he has been using. on a day you think he probably used the drugs call your hr dept or whoever drug tests and be an anonymous caller and tell them you saw him acting strangely like super hyper and tempermental plus he smelled like burning chemicals and tell them to give him another random- you can get meth out of your system quickly if he knows in advance a drug test is coming so you have to surprise him
if you ever find the drug again take a picture of it then lift it from his desk using something like a glove or kleenex- give it to the cops and his finger prints will be all over it
tell everyone that blames you for ratting him out that you thought he needed help and needed to get to rehab which he probably really does.

well you need to stand up for yourself and let him know that he's not your boss he's an employee just like yourself and another thing ask him how's he passing these drug tests and if he asks why you let him know what you found and if none of that works talk to your boss and tell him you're having a problem and you need to talk to him

Your co-worker will dig his own grave. However, don't wait around for that to happen. Can you become more competitive with him? -and/or- When he tries to boss you around, you could tell him that you appreciate his opinion, and that you will take that into consideration, and that you will see what "your boss" thinks of that suggestion. Stay smart about it and don't let him intimidate you even though I'm sure he is annoying.
