why is the sound not working when i play macromedia flash player 8?

whenever i play videos on macromedia flash player 8, the sound never works! i have the most updated version of flash, so why would this be happening? could it be due to a virus or something else?

You might be missing the audio codec. The codec you are missing might not necessarily be the one for the player but for the file you are using. If you know what type of files you are trying to play then you can search the Internet for the right codec.

Nope the newist version is player 9
