Some of my webpages don't load properly, and have little red crosses where the pictures should be.

Also, a pop-up keeps coming up. It says:
'Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display properly'

The little red crosses mean that the picture referenced in the web page aren't where they are supposed to be. Nothing you can do unless you are the author of the web page.
As for the ActiveX stuff. Be HAPPY that your ActiveX is not working. With ActiveX a malicious web page can run commands on your computer. ActiveX is a HUGE security risk...

Your security settings maybe too high in internet explorer. Open your Internet options in Control Panel. Or at the top of the browser Tools>Internet Options. Then select the SECURITY TAB. Then reset all to default.

Also examine the Tab PROGRAMS. select Manage Add ons. Look at the programs that are loaded when Internet explorer starts up.

it sounds like just what the pop-up says that you dont have activex installed. do you do windows updates? make sure you have the latest updates and you might want to update your version of internet explorer. either way, that will help with activex.

In your browser, go to tools, internet options. Go to the security tab, drop the security level to medium on the slider bar on the bottom left of the window and click ok. See if that helps.
