Mars and the moon are the only bodies in our solar system that we could live on and I doubt that will happen in our lifetime.

The biosphere made on Earth is the most likely way to create habitats on other solar bodies. I really don't see a point in making habitats on other planets because the Earth can substain life much easier. They may make these habitats on the moon or Mars for experimentation and research of these bodies and maybe even for commercial use for tourists, but I don't think it will be to live on forever or will be in our lifetime.
We hardly know everything about the future of this planet or all of the available rescources. It is known however that eventually if there is no intervention of some sort (religious beliefs or otherwise) that this solar system will cease to exist because the sun will eventually over a LONG period of time, stop burning and/or destroy the entire solar system.

And as technology advances to allow interstellar colonization, we ponder on the future of the spoken language as English seems to be an endangered species.

We will one day live on the moon. Than we can be peaceful and content. It will not be in our lifetimes though.
