Abbreviation of Uniform Resource Locator, the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web.
The first part of the address indicates what protocol to use, and the second part specifies the IP address or the domain name where the resource is located.

Hi!

URL aka Universal Resource Locator helps people get around the Internet. For instance every page is hosted on a logical address (this address consists of numbers). So, instead of typing 123.456.789.012 (this is how an address looks like) you type the address: www.somesite.com. It's much easier to remember than 123.456.789.012, isn't it?

I hope I've helped.
