Honey, No! It is NOT a sign that you are miscarrying! I have to say that I am surprised that you did not get these questions answered by your doctor. You are not getting off to a very good start if you left there with all these questions.
What you should do for the next time is to get a little spiral notebook and write down all the questions that you have. Write them down as you think about them and then you will have them handy the next time you see the doctor. The doctor should ask you if you have any questions. If for some reason they do not ask you, do not let them get out of the room without answering your questions! Before they can slip out the door say, "I have some questions I would like you to answer", that way they are caught. Have your little notebook in your hand and fire away. That way you will not leave your appointment thinking of all the things you forgot to ask!
The enlarged uterus probably just means that you are a bit further along than what you had calculated. It is nothing to worry about. Was your last period very light? Almost like spotting? He is probably thinking that you may be as much as a month further along than you think you are. Did he say then that you are 6 weeks pregnant or did he think that you could be more like 9 or 10 weeks along?
When do you see him again?
How did he decide to handle this? Is he going to do an ultrasound to find out how far along you are? If not, what is his reason for not doing an ultrasound? It could be something as dumb as the fact that your insurance will not cover it. That is an awful reason but some doctors are that way. Check and see if it is an insurance issue.
I would call the office and tell whoever answers the phone what the doctor said and ask if he is going to do any tests to see how far along you are or is he going to wait and see how you do.
Doctors are often not in as big a hurry to know things as we are!
Take care of yourself, this is a blessed, magical time in your life! You are a walking, breathing miracle! You are SO lucky to be able to carry life, so many women try so hard and can never do it. Then there are many life me whose childbearing years are over and I envy you with all my heart!
Have fun sweetie and take really good care of yourself. Eat right and get lots of rest! Pamper yourself. Right now taking care of you is the best way to take care of your baby.
Blessings
Lady T

No that is not a sign of miscarriage. That just means you may be farther along than you think. There is a thing called implantation bleeding that can be occasionally confused by some women as a period. So maybe your last period was actually the month before you got pregnant and what you thought was your last period was the egg implanting into your uterus. Dont worry about it meaning anything bad.

No need to freak out. An enlarged uterus is a sign for doctors when they are examining you that you could be pregnant. So by him saying your uterus is enlarged...that's ok, because you are pregnant. It has absolutely nothing to do with miscarriage or that you might be further along (you could be though). A womans uterus starts to swell practically immediately after conception...it is preparing for growth. Hope this eases your mind!

First thing, try not to panic, that only makes things worse. Second, anytime you bleed/spot/bad cramps, you should call your doc if nothing else for your own peace of mind. That's what he's there for. If you are by chance having a miscarriage there's really nothing that can be done, it's your body's way of telling you that something was wrong. It's not abnormal but you do need to see a doc asap. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

try not to panic sounds to me like you may just be further along than you think.

If your doc said you're 6 weeks, you're probably 6 weeks. You should have asked him/her when you were there. Just give the office a call and ask them. He/She or his/her nurse can call you back and answer any questions/concerns you have.

He was prpbably just making an observation. Call the nurse @ your Dr.'s office and ask her...or him....
Congrats:) You need to ask him questions while you are there if you are confused:)
