Yes it sounds like you are pregnant - congrats! The 7mm refers to the 'crown-rump length', and this needs to be longer than it is currently before you can see the 'gestation sac' on an ultrasound scan - the gestation sac means you can confirm the pregnancy properly on a scan. Current guidelines say that women shouldn't have scans until they are at least 6 weeks pregnant, because it is just too early to see the pregnancy on a scan - so I'm not sure how you slipped through the net!
If you want to be sure then do a home pregnancy test - these are more than 95% accurate. Otherwise you should have a scan at 12-14 weeks to confirm your dates.

Why would you have a scan at 5 weeks? Most people don't even know they are preg until they have missed at least one period which can be up to 6 weeks. Then usual 1st scan in the UK is 12 weeks. If you are bleeding and cramping then I doubt very much you are pregnant or if you were then you may have a missed-miscarriage where the fetus is still inside and you will have to go in for a scrape. 1st pregnancy I had, I went for 12 week scan to find there was no development after 6 weeks and no heartbeat. I had to have a scrape as I had a missed-mis and so the fetus had been dead for 6 weeks still inside. If this is the case with you then you have my deepest and sincere sympathy.

yeah when your 5 weeks pregnant, your baby has actually onlly been growing for 3 weeks. The gestation is 3 weeks.Very small, and hard to see yet. So yes take your prenatal vitamins which have the folic acid in them. Your pregnant.

Yes - congratulations to you. Early gestation means early in pregnancy and folic acid prevents defects while the early formation takes place. Take it easy - the first months are the crucial ones xx

You are pregnant!! early gestation is the early development of the baby during pregnant......all that was on my first ultrasound too! the fluid area is called the amniotic sac. Was there anything in it??? With my first pregnancy I found out and had a ultra sound done at 5 weeks. there was a little sac and a tiny dot in the middle of it. the little dot was the baby!!

Sure sounds like that what they're telling you. At five weeks it's pretty darn tiny, so what you saw was most likely perfectly normal. Most all vitamins will have some amount of folic acid in them, but women's/prenatal vitamins will have 1000 mg, which is what you'll want to take every day. Also make sure you're getting enough iron in your vitamin supplement, that's important too!

Yes, you're pregnant - but in the very early stages (which is what they mean by early gestation). If you're five weeks pregnant then that means that your baby was only conceived 3 weeks ago, so there won't be much to see yet.
Congratulations.

Yes, the 7mm is the size of your baby and inside the tiny fluid area you should have seen this tiny little thing inside the fluid, if you did that is your baby. It doesn't seem like your confused just in shock. Congrats and good luck...

Go to BabyCenter.com and view your Pregnancy calculator. You put in the first day after your last period and it will tell you what is going on with your baby.
They don't start out being a pound. In fact, it will be quite a while before your baby even gets to be 4 inches long. Think about it. Cells that can't be seen with the naked eye are creating a being inside you.

If your doctor's are saying you're pregnant, then you're pregnant. If you're only 5 weeks, they shouldn't have even done an ultrasound yet. They usually don't do them until about 12 weeks or so. There's almost nothing to see at 5 weeks,, that's why you couldn't see much. 7 mm is the size of your fetus. You're pregnant.
