Start with the formula of aluminum sulfate. Since this is an ionic compound, when it dissolves it produces aluminum ions (Al3+) and sulfate ions (SO4^2-). Since each formula unit of aluminum sulfate produces 2 aluminum ions, the concentration of those ions will be 2X the concentration of the compound.
