Well, if you really want the whole ""you've got mail" thing .... then you have to get AOL ..... My recommendation .. DONT!
You can configure yahoo to let you know when you have mail (via messenger), and you can configure the sounds even and add some.
You can also get other email programs or notifying programs, I am not listing any because there are so many out there. Go to http://www.nonags.com or http://www.filehippo.com and check out the mail programs and notifiers.

What mail providor are you using?
If you have yahoo mail, just leave Y! running, and setup alerts to let you know..
msn messenger used to be able to do it with your registered passport email address (could be any providor).
I'd imagine there's a ton of notification programs on download.com that can do this for u too.
