Since you have asked for a Homeopathic solution, please do not mind the Moronic answers you will get against Homeopathy :-) !
My friend, Homeopathy treats the patient not the disease, you have to to describe exactly what and how you feel, the name of the disease does not matters it could be anything or our conventional physicians can give it any facncy name because thats what they are only good for, not for curing just inventing names for what they do not understand and hence have no way of curing. Sad but true !
If you can tell me exactly how and what you feel from your head to your toes, I can prescribe Homeopathic Medicines to treat and cure what you call your "MACULAR DEGENERATION" without any side effects or complications. I am a Homeopath and there are no fees involved. Please post or email your details if you want me to help you. And I would be happy to be of help.
Take care and God Bless you

I have macular degeneration in my left eye. I am taking the shots. They are necessary if you want your eye to heal and the vision to be restored. They do not hurt! It just sounds bad. They deaden the eye with drops. There is very little feeling in the eyeball anyway. After the shot, there is some discomfort but only because they scrub the eye with a sterile solution. You simply place a wet wash cloth over the eye and keep it closed for about an hour or so, and it is okay. I will probably have to take the shots for the rest of my life, but that is fine. The price is not too high when I consider the value of being able to see. Sight versus blindness is not really an option to me.

There is no one treatment or procedure that cures macular degeneration but that doesn't mean there aren't treatments, lifestyle choices or supplements that help to improve one's vision or prevent further degeneration of the macula.

1. Diet and Nutrition
One of the main processes that contributes to macular degeneration and vision loss is chronic inflammation. Exposure to environmental toxins or eating certain foods can be pro-inflammatory. Likewise there are foods that are anti-inflammatory and contribute to reducing chronic inflammation in the body and the eyes.

2. Stem Cells
Several Phase I clinical trials are now recruiting participants to study the safety of transplanting embryonic stem cells and to determine dosage.

3. Bionic Retina
Sometime in the near future, possibly as soon as 2013, Phase I clinical trials will begin that involve a simple procedure of implanting a retinal chip into patients with degenerative retinas

4. Anti-VEGF Treatment
Patients with wet macular degeneration are currently treated with intra-ocular injections of medications that help to dry up leaky blood vessels and prevent the growth of future abnormal capillaries.

5. Macular Pigment
Taking antioxidants called carotenoids, like lutein and zeaxanthin, are known to increase macular pigment density. A higher macular pigment density protects the macula from blue light and helps to prevent macular degeneration.

6. Eyeglasses and lenses
Wearing blue-light protection glasses and lenses like T‘aime Eyewear(http://www.halovis.com).

Macular degeneration is the deterioration of the central focal region of the back of the eye called the macula, and it results in impaired vision. The symptoms can be gradual or sudden, with objects usually appearing distorted in one eye. Upon examination, degeneration is often found in the normal-apprearing eye as well. Both men and women, mostly elderly, contract this condition and seldom have any other eye problems. There may be a heriditary link. Since the condition involves lack of nurturning of this normally blood rich tissue, some scientists believe that it is similar to brain tissue degeneration taking place in senility and atherosclerosis. Laser treatments are often used to treat advanced cases. One physician we have consulted suggested that the cause may come from use of blood thinning medication, or scar tissue formed on the macula. One supplement you can take to promote long-term macular health and visual acuity is called NutraView which contains lutein, bilberry, blueberry and Vitamin C. If you are over 60 get a visual fiel evaluation test by your eye doctor every year. Other supplements that aid in vascular integrity will also help.
Do not believe those that say homeopathy is not a valuable treatment. I rarely if ever see a MD anymore and am sure glad and much healthier for it.
By the way, you can get the NutraView at www.Melaleuca.com

Good Luck and Be well!

Increase intracellular Glutathione levels

Epidemiologic studies have found that diets high in certain fruits and vegetables may help prevent macular degeneration. It may be that certain substances in these foods, including "GLUTATHIONE", help deliver antioxidant vitamins to the eye.

Eye Center researchers have worked with Dean Jones, PhD, to conduct basic research into the effects of anti-oxidants on retinal cells. They have a particular interest in a substance called glutathione.

There are no set treatments for mac/degen. I highly recommend ignoring D. Burke and seeing a Homeopath in your area. Good Classical Homeopaths are sprouting up everywhere. Feel free to email w/ your city/area and maybe there is someone closer than you think! And if it were non sense, why did the consumers of the E.U. spend over 30 billion euros on it?

You might try monavie juice, or pycnogenol, or bilberry. These natural supplements have a beneficial effect on the capillaries in the retina. Seek advice from a holistic doctor or naturopath experienced in using them in this serious condition.
Good luck and God bless!
