C.S. Lewis argues that pain exists because we have free will. I don't doubt that we do have free will, but I also believe we live in a complex system, where everyone has free will. Those wills conflict and cause problems, but they can also cause great things to happen. As for your future, you can change it, but how would you know you had changed it once the change is wrought?

I think free only exist in personal relationships, family members, and some contest(rarely though) I mean if you go to a website and it says free this or free that, NOT, either their are tax involved or your poor computer has a virus instead of the free thing. On the other hand if your talking about a cashless world, that means credit cards, ept cards(food stamps in the form of a card),or gift certificates!! You never get something for nothing, because of the motto, one favor deserves another. It would be nice, but I haven't found it!!
