Depends when you're a teenager! Saying that though, my girls must be the only kids in the universe to know who Mud were, they can sing all the Rolling Stones, Kinks, Beatles and Simon & Garfunkle songs. As well as Elvis - we all do the Hound dog, Free as a bird etc at the top of our voice. Also Janis Joplin, Chicago and The Eagles.
But not when their friends are around. Then we go back to being an average family who does modern music.

50s and 60s The Shirelles, Little Anthony and The Imperials, Elvis, Chuck Berry, The Coasters, Brenda Lee, Paul Anka, etc. The Best!

I say the 70's 80's 90's and 00's simply because Michael Jackson made music in each decade and I just love the man!
(better then than now though he so should have stopped the surgery at Bad he was so cute in that video.)

Easy win for the 60's because that was the beginning of it all. Singers and songs were loud, fun, and uplifting. None of the depressing power balads that come later by people who sound like a dog yodeling. Everyone today wants to sing the ultimate heart wrenching depressing balad of loss and misery. The 2000's are filled with crap and efforts to demean authentic emotion in favor of misery. In the 60"s technology was not there to allow tone deaf bimbo's to record and singers had to be able to sing.

2000's is my favorite decade due to the fact that all the music is current. My next decade is 90's due to the fact I grew up in that decade.
