I have looked through add/remove programs and I do not see the I.E. icon. Any help would be appreciated!

After clicking on Add/Remove Programs click on Add/Remove Windows Components Tab on the left hand side and would definitely be there

dont know why some1 said that u cannot find it in XP

Download some of the free alternative browsers Firefox, or Netscape, or Opera (which may have ads). Or as someone else suggested, download a Linux/Unix Operating System (don't get me started on this one!)

Step 2: Back up your data

Step 3: Install Ubuntu

IE is integrated to the windows system. So you can't actually uninstall it. Just disable it, as mentioned above. You can just forget it exists and use Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/).

If you're using Windows XP, you can't ininstall it - you can only disable it. Refer to this article from Microsoft:
