My husband and just bought a house out of the city and we have guests in our minivan. I don't blame the little guys for wanting to live in there lots of cracker crumbs, chips, stray smarties, ect. We have vacumed it out now and no more food in the van and traped a couple about a week ago but they are still in there (I see poo) any ideas on how to get them out and keep them out?

i own a repair shop, and there is a easy way to get rid of them, buy some traps and set them you will get them all this way,and then use some moth balls to keep any more from coming in,once they smell where other ones have been they will come back to it,so use the traps to catch them with and load it up with moth balls, and it will kill the scent of where they once was,i have to do this all the time, customers sometimes have these critters in there vehicles when i get them to work on,,good luck i hope this help,s.

Well this depends on if you want them dead or not. You can set traps or poison using peanut butter as bait. They love peanut butter. However, there are humane traps out there that simply trap the critters alive and in the morning you can take release the mice back in the wild. However, they might come back into the van at a later date. The best thing to do is find out where exactly they are coming into the van and seal that off. This is not always an easy task because they chew into anything. They are very persistant. Keeping you car clean and free of food and crumbs is probably your best bet. If there isn't any food in the car then they aren't going to want to come in. Good luck. Take care.

Green Light rat poison will do the trick. Open a box and put it under the seat and presto, no more mice.
You may frown on killing them. But, they will chew into wires and cause a lot of damage to your van. So you need to choose between mice and high garage bills.
