I am an Independent Traditionalist. I attended a private Church owned University, University of Oregon, and Idaho State University. I had many professors that made great efforts to change not only my political persuasion, but my life style and religious beliefs. These were all strongly liberal. The few professors I had that were more conservative rarely and usually never brought up any of these issues. My degrees are all in Geology and Engineering so none of these issues were pertinent to the classes I was taking. I now teach in a local college and find that the same thing happens here. The more liberal the professor the more often he/she puts forth a political agenda despite the subject being taught.

So gov't LOANS are not ok, but daddy footing the bill is? What about those of us whose parents cut them off at 18? Many people are cut off in high school. Are they required to suffer because their parents made a bad decision? Gov't LOANS, not handouts help provide education for most of the country. They then pay that money back with interest. The program could pay for itself. Bush just dropped the interest rate on federal loans and also increased the Pell grant. He was hailed as a hero by his followers for it. Sounds like you guys just follow what they want you to without putting thought behind it.

I agree with you about the Deep South Confederacy Education. They can't rewrite the text books you know, because the information is correct. Watering down the Education system with "No Child Left Behind" has allowed Foreigners to pull ahead once again. I attended Notre Dame and have my Masters in Science/Theology.

It isn't just college professors. It's high school teachers as well. I had many of them, and so have many people I know. Also, when I was reading portions of my history textbook to my mom, we found many discrepancies that were just interpretations on events in history, rather than what really happened.
It's pretty bad when a history textbook says the exact opposite of what my mom learned in school, or the exact opposite of what she remembers because she lived it!
As for your question, I'm only currently taking online classes, so I'm missing out on the whole classroom experience. The reason I'm not attending a university with classrooms has nothing to do with indoctrination. Rather, it's because living where I am, and being married to a US Army soldier, it's a little hard to go to an actual class.

I am. And tangerine, where the heck have you been? The liberal professors have been indoctrinating their students with extreme liberal garbage and hatred for years. Many of them even admit it!! Not the hate of course. And college dear, don't mean squat! Coming from experience, there are many, many, college-educated completely ignorant and clueless individuals in our country. Why is it that a liberal runs like a rat to the 'college-educated' deal. Did you think we'd respect you more? Don't even get me started on that.

I am a college educated Conservative and I agree most professors lean way left. We have to keep our opinions to ourselves until graduation but it is a good lesson in how narrow minded the other side thinks and how bigoted they sound.
I came from a family of teamsters and started changing my views in High School. I think listening to all the leftist in college really opened my eyes to the lie of the left. That they are for the working man, as long as he enjoys high taxes and being dependent on government. Thanks for life's lesson.

I'm a conservative, not Republican, and I am college educated. And I am one of the people who saw the liberal slant in education.
