OKAY ... i do nOT want to know that you have to plug it in a breadboard.. i know THIS!

i want to know HOW you insert the optocouple AND relay with respect to the given connections in the cct on a standard breadboard that (assuming) allows the relay and optocoupler to be connected.

The board has three divisions.. the sockets in upper and lower tiers are horizontally short and in the middle one are short vertically

These opto couplers plug into a breadboard kit, where you can add your own circuits. You should buy a kit for that family of components. Maybe you should request a catalog from a vendor, or use an on-line catalog like DigiKey has. Visit http://www.digikey.com/

Newer breadboards have places to plug in
DIP packages (your opto coupler)
then you run wires (jumpers) from the pins of the
coupler to where you want them to go....

the blue thing didn't work
Go to radio shack they have sockets. If not some perforated boards have hole configurations .1" centers that you can push the pc through . Then solder small wires to the legs.
