Here is an article with lots of details, plus it has a good calendar of events. Synopsis: Laid eggs, eggs hatched in 4 days, pair raised fry. At 51 days from laying eggs parents laid new batch of eggs.

Convicts are EASY to breed. It may take them a couple of tries to get it right though. They are good parents and guard their eggs well. The female is easy to tell as she has a reddish orange belly.

However there is not too much demand for the young. Many people use them as food for big fish.

Probably about 5 months, since they must be half baked to be convicts in the first place. Cute picture.
