Social work is a good field, but it requires you to be able to spell and to use proper grammar. Maybe you should consider a career that requires a paper hat.

Social work doesn't pay what it should. If one is going to college to learn something to make money, this would not be the field.
Social work is an important field. The larger our country becomes and the more complex the family structor, the more that social workers are needed. However, they do more than see people from family court.
Hospitals hire social worker as a go between for doctor, clinic, and patients. A social worker can get someone with a bad heart an operation if that person doesn't have the insurance or money, as there are doctors willing to do it but a regular person wouldn't know that. That is where they come in.
However, family courts have a lot of social workers helping families to make better lives. So many children today are having problems learning coping skills as they aren't taught this at home. Plus, with the drugs in this country, sometimes younger people takes the wrong path and end up in the system. A social worker can guide them though the process of getting out of the system and back into daily life.
I admire their work so much.

First of all, it has nothing to do with Democrats. Second, it's not a particularly high-paying profession. The typical social worker, with a master's degree, starts at less than $30,000.
Social workers typically specialize in at least one area, and there are 48 special interest organizations available to professional social workers.
Social workers work with families to help them keep their children, or to remove children from a home that is a dangerous environment. They provide mental health and substance abuse programs, as well as disaster mental health services. Social workers intervene for the elderly, helping them get much needed services or helping them escape abusive situations. Social workers work with victims of domestic violence, and victims of violent crimes. Social workers work with families of terminally ill patients, people with eating disorders, and people with HIV/AIDS. That's just the start of the populations they work with.
Wow, I forgot research, advocacy, and political lobbying for increased rights and better programs for those who need it.
Basically, a social worker's job is to help people help themselves and to take care of those who are unable to help themselves, like children and the elderly.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the growth of the social work profession is due to a rapidly growing elderly population, changes in treatment of substance abusers (treatment vs. prison), shortened hospital stays, and rising student enrollments in public schools that necessitate the need for additional assistance. I'm sure increased school violence plays a role in the last one, too.

Because the Democrats have everyone convinced that they are victims, and nothing anyone does is their fault, so no one needs to take responsibility.
