Hey all, ive asked this before but i have to ask again. Which is better, 1GB of RAM @233speed or 768 @268speed? Im gonna upgrade to a faster speed later on but for right now this is all i can get

1 gig is lots of RAM. I would go with more, as the old phrase goes, more is better.

one imp thing is missing in your query i.e. how much your processor supports (look for the processor's FSB speed). A RAM supporting speed close to that (or higher) would be better even if its slightly less like in your case.

if i were you i'd say 512 @ 433
i doubt if u'd be able to get a 268 bus ram (i even doubt it exists..) but 433 is the minimum bus i'd recommend..

i've got 2x256 mb @ 433 bus and it's acceptable for graphics heavy apps. though 1gig is the real thing!

go for DDR2 for enhanced performance
