He is our Heavenly Father who loves us all, He created this world and all that is in it... and all who live on it. We are His children and we need to remember to thank Him daily for all He has given us here. He will always be loving and forgiving towards us, but we have to do our part and repent when we are doing wrong. He wants us to return to Him someday, so we need to be clean and pure to enter His kingdom.

I believe that God is foremost the basis for all understanding. The concept of the perfect being, who is both changeless and timeless, allows us a platform from which to wonder and acquire knowledge. All other things attributed to God, whether true or invented, I feel are secondary.
I do want to make clear that this is not to belittle his role as a deity in any faith. I only feel that logically the first step should be taken before the other. God in all of his roles should coexist, but for the purpose of ordering them I chose this one first.
Though I probably didn't give a full answer, good question! I enjoyed thinking about it.

Have you ever thought to ask to God, "who are you?"
The search for the knowing of God is included in ontology, theology, and epistomology.
Ever since man has gained a concept of self, other, you, and I, he and woman have also developed the concept of gods. After some further development, human beings realized there was only One G-d, encompassing all the qualities of the gods.
You might begin to find your answer in the Upanishads. Then read the mythologies of the Hindus, Greeks, Romans, Norse and Teutons, Celts, and other peoples.
I recommend highly the series of lectures, which can be listened to or watched on video, by Joseph Campbell.
G-d be with you!

The God concept is a flight of human imagination. There is no one in the form of a human who contorls the earth ,every living being etc. Those who have imagined all sorts of things about god will hopelessly defend their theories.Creation of the earth, universe etc,the big bang theory is believable than attribute it to some super human.
