pulling away = resistant on control
Basically, this dream is about how you viewed high authority figure like boss, parents, teacher, cop and so on. You feel like being taken over in terms of freedom or control. You are trying to pull away because deep down you know you should not be taken over. You have some sort of struggle in your life among those figures.
