because the pressure inside the balloon is greater than the pressure outside it.

So, the air inside the balloon, will try to go out.

Then, because of newtons 3rd law of motion..
"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction"

when air inside goes out, the balloon itself, will go to the other direction. Thus, it will fly away!

Or, because you're blowing it! hehehe

They don't actually float away. When you blow up a balloon, it means you are losing the air in your lungs. The increased weight actually makes you sink into the earth.

Air is lighter than the material of the balloon. That and if the wind's blowing and if you don't tie the ballons to something.
