I worked there for roughly 8-9 months part time, but when i finished university I left without giving notice,i just rang up and said I wont be in again. Now I would like to purchase stuff from the shop, I know I acted in the wrong way about leaving and theyre probably not too happy about it, will they refuse to serve me??

Legally yes, they can refuse to serve you, however it would be very very petty.

Nothing to feel guilty about

you telephoned them and so, you DID give them notice '
As you only worked part time that is sufficient

You go right in and shop when you wish ,
. do not feel bad about leaving them

If you were working on a full time basis ,
you would usually need to give notice in advance
as agreed in your contract

I hope this helps --- It is OK!
go buy what you need ,
hold your head up high!
you are a valued customer now .

Definitely go and shop there. When did any business refuse money? I've left loads of jobs. Nobody minds, as long as you didn't run off with the takings!

Also, you usually find that the other staff thought- good for him- i'll think i'll do the same, so you won't recognise any of them anyway!

Legally they can refuse to serve anyone as long as they are not discriminating on racial or sexual lines. I dont suppose they would bother about you leaving. They probably have more pressing matters to worry about so just go and buy.
However the whole situation does not say much for your manners does it

They can refuse to serve anyone, but it's pretty unlikely they'll bother to refuse you.

If there are people still working there who remember you they might say 'What happened?', but that's about it.

The only thing that's stopping you shopping there is your own guilt and embarrassment!

The owner has the right to serve whomever he/she so pleases. So it is up to their discretion.

They might not, get a mate to serve you, if you had any there, or get a mate to buy stuff in there for you.
I dunno why you would wanna shop there, its surrounded by people you let down and workers who had to cover and do overtime for you!!!
Sort it out mate!!! xxxx
