This question is a little tricky to answer. I have read through some of the answers and i dont want to mention the same again. I would like to tell you that, there are certain ring tones that come along with the mobile while you pruchase it. These ring tones cannot be tansferred to any other phone (even if you use bluetooth/infra-red/data cable). Eg, in a motorola , you can actually see a lock symbol next to those ring tones that cannot be transferred or moved, while the ones that do not have those locks can certainly be moved using the various methods mentioned by the fellow friends here.

Yes those are methods of transfiring ringtones. But you might not be able to specially if you paid for the the ringtone. If you paid for the ringtone it is copy writted and might not be able to. If you uploaded it yourself (say a mp3 song or using software to make a ringtone) then you are able to share it with other people using infared or bluetooth or even Multi Media Messeging.
